Below is an except from an interview I did with Steve from nycdaygame.com which was featured in my latest book Naughty Nomad’s Guide to New York City. We talk about the 3 biggest mistakes guys make when picking up women during the day time.
Highlights from Transcript:
What are the three biggest mistakes you see guys making?
- The number one mistake is NOT approaching in the first place— or hesitating. A lot of guys tend to think too much and get in their own head. I teach guys to make the approach an automatic response, so they leave no time or mental debate.
- The next mistake I see is when guys do approach, they don’t present themselves in a confident way. They’re so nervous that they’re stuttering or saying silly stuff. The only solution is just to push them to keep doing it and doing it until they become comfortable and smoother with it.
- The third mistake is when a guy manages to talk to a girl for a little bit and they either eject themselves or just let the conversation die down. They don’t close or get a phone number, failing to follow through and turn it into something. A girl can like the guy, but if he is scared to ask the question, he leaves with nothing. You have to ask every time and assume she likes you.
Good video. I agree – those are the big mistakes. Sadly but true you see them much too often.
Ha! No. 3 is definitely an issue but it’s not fear – it’s more lack of timing… I also meet a lot of women while I’m working – I’m a musician so I don’t have much time to talk when I’m singing for instance… Hmmmm… A conundrum… But fuck it, I’m going to Thailand in a couple weeks anyway 😀
