Cyber Attacked: A Cautionary Tale

Last night, a vindictive cyber attack was launched against me.
This is not the first time this has happened to a Manosphere blogger. It happened to Roosh, Krauser, Matt Forney, and now me.

Rather than rewrite what happened, here’s a forum post I put up last night.

As Roosh, Krauser, and many public manosphere guys know, going public on here or via your blog can have serious consequences.

I want to share with you what has happened to me in the last 24 hours.

Yesterday a vicious and relentlessness cyber attack was launched against me. A week or so ago, I got a message from some guy called Muletool (banned here and off my forum, with an American IP address from both Richmond and Charlotte). He told me that he would hire a team of Indian hackers to fuck me over. I didn’t take him seriously, but regardless, some serious shit just went down.

– Somebody managed to get access to my Facebook friends list (which is private), then they made a fake Facebook account under my real name (which is not even on Facebook), added all my friends and family, and the carnage began.

– They linked to the most unsavory posts of my blog, publicly shamed women I knew, and messaged tons of friends, including family and girlfriends, and lambasted me.

– They even added strangers from my home town and attempted to ruin my reputation.

– When the fake account shut down? They started making fake profiles of my friends and are now doing the same thing all over.

The craziest part? They’re even posting pics of me I’ve never even seen before! Like ones of me posing outside a NYC nightclub 8 months ago. The random girl posing in the pic with me – who I’ve never even slept with – has also just attempted to add me with a real looking profile (created months ago) – where she just put up the same pic of me and her as her timeline cover!

All I can say is I’m baffled and frustrated.

I never expected all of this to happen. Somebody is trying to ruin my life.

Be wary of going public.

UPDATES:
As of this morning, I’ve managed to contain the damage. The random girl outside the nightclub? Just some girl contacted by my fake profile. He asked for pictures of mine (which I didn’t know existed), and when he put up a pic of her on the timelime, she reciprocated (which is kind of sad considering I only met her one night in a nightclub 8 months ago.)

Other women have contacted me telling me the hacker chatted to them online under my name. He flirted with them and appears to have tried to arrange meetings, but at the same time, he posted on their timelines negative content from this site.

How did this happen?

  • Image search. If your face is out there, it’s easy to find other online profiles and uncover your identity. It’s only a matter of time.
  • Profile pic likes and comments. Nobody can see my Facebook my timeline or friend’s list (not even MY facebook friends), but everybody can see who comments and likes your profile picture. Suddenly, a total stranger has access to your inner circle.

Lesson Learned

If you have a blog, public or private, you may be held accountable for everything you publish. I’m not so proud of some of my earlier, ego-driven content –  but it still reflects who I was at the time: a guy in his mid 20’s who like getting laid and wanted to high-five about it. It’s a little immature, but we’ve all been there. It’s just part of growing up.

How do I feel now? Invincible.

In the last year, I’m come clean with alter ego. All my family, friends, and girls I meet know about Naughty Nomad already. I no longer care about how people view my lifestyle. There is no shame in being masculine. There is no shame is natural human sexuality. Let the haters hate.  I now live my life with radical honestly and I’ve nothing to hide.

sadTo my haters,

I’m sorry my life is better than yours, but trying to bring my down to your level won’t make your any better. Take a look at yourself. Perhaps if you spent as much time and energy trying to improve your life as you do trying to destroy mine, it would be more rewarding. Hit the gym, learn a language, travel the world, do something productive – then you too may enjoy the fruitfulness of this wonderful life.

Yours hopefully,
Mark

I remember a few months back you made a post addressing those who may come across this blog, and I commented that however great your life maybe, it’s not worth broadcasting it to the world because the internet is a vicious place that never forgets. You may regret the impact this blog may have somewhere down the road (employers do thoroughly check all your online profiles). This just proves it true – vanity comes at a price.

The last line is the best. Right on brother, let the haters hate. You have nothing to lose.

    Well said Zolo-
Basically everyone should learn game and try to get the hottest girls possible.

I want to know about as guys get older how they can pull hot 19yo blondes-I’m earl 30s and I gotta say there’s nothing on Earth as fine as a cute barely legal petite white blonde girl. Those girls are so delicious my mouth waters.

Illegal cyber crimes aside, I wonder if people such as yourself are targeted for any other reasons? I think its too easy to say, well, the haters are just fat losers in their mom’s basement. or hey, I’m masculine and just having fun. there must be more to it than that. if someone focuses all of their hate and bile on you enough to engage in illegal activities such as hacking, and no balanced person would condone such a thing, then its one dimensional of you to merely swat it away with “I’m sorry my life is better than yours, but trying to bring my down to your level won’t make your any better.” or gym advice.

There is something else going on here and it begs a deeper and more considered look at not necessarily your lifestyle and how you choose to live it, but how and why you also choose to make it so public and make money from it.

That’s an incredible story. It must really suck.

How does your family and friends think about you now, now that they have read all your most unsavory stories?

      They know me. It’s cool

It is said there are two types of strangers who follow you: those who want to become you & those who want to break you.

Frankly, I dig the traveling you’re doing. I find more information reading your stories here, than mainstream travel pages & try to take some bits I can capitalize as a family man.

    Sorry to hear that Mark

Keep ya head high and keep doing what you are doing inspiring men and being yourself.
