Snapshot: Cape Town, South Africa

Snapshots are mini town/city guides for smaller places or cities I have only experienced briefly. Here’s a little snapshot of Capetown.

What are one’s first impressions of Cape Town?

It’s depends where you’re coming from. If you’re coming from Europe, Cape Town would seem like a pleasant city that’s not too dissimilar from somewhere on the Med – apart from the strange accents and dark people everywhere.

If you’re coming from anywhere else in Africa, however, Cape Town will seem like heaven. Western amenities, sexy African bodies, cheap wine sold on every corner, great nightlife, fancy shopping malls, clean streets, wow!

But no matter where you’re coming from, one thing every visitor raves about  is the natural setting of the city. Tucked in between table mountain and a winsome harbour, you’re constantly admiring the city’s stunning backdrop.

Keep in mind, I’m talking about the ‘City Bowl’ of Cape Town… the nice part of town. Go down to the Cape Flats and you’re in one of the most dangerous, poverty stricken neighbours you can imagine. There are few city in the world that reveal the gap between the rich and the poor than Cape Town.

What are the women like?

.

A winning multicultural mix. ‘Coloured‘ people account for 48.13% of the population, followed by Black Africans at 31%, Whites at 18.75%, and Asians at 1.43%. Blondes hair, black booties, Asian eyes and everything in between abound.  Imagine a Western Europe city, except more Africanised. This a good thing. Like many African cities, you’ll see more boner-inducing bodies than anywhere else on earth. The white women even have to up their game to compete.

I honestly wonder if Cape Town was as good as I remember. Perhaps over time I’ve just romanticised it over time.

One thing I do remember is it’s harder to pull girls in Cape Town than in other African cities. The reason for this simple: you have almost zero exotic capital. However, Cape Town has one MASSIVE advantage.  You’re not constantly dealing with hookers. (Most of time, anyway). In most of Africa, this is almost always the case at night.  So if you’re looking for genuine African girls, Cape Town is probably the place on the continent.

Where should I go at night-time?

Easy. Most of the action is concentrated on Long Street or just off it. Here you’ll find wine bars, pool halls, pubs, clubs, the works… It’s a street made for a pub crawl.

Any other recommendations?

Para-sail Table Mountain, dive with great white sharks, and take a wine tour.

Bottom Line

I loved it so much I was actually looking up real estate.

although this post is over a year old I feel I need to point out that nomad may have exaggerated quite a bit. South African black women may be gorgeous but they sure as hell cannot compete with white women. we all know no race of women can compare with white women: they are feminine gracefully curvy and gorgeous. may I add they have wonderful coloured eyes and hair.

And I don’t see how black women or any other race of women could compete with that.

LOL Julie. For sure the Colored and Black women in South Africa are incredible. They are curvier without being fat. Also more delicate features. White women just do not fill the bill for many of us.

You need to go to Joberg – sandton city. I met so many wonderful, beautiful women there. Ended up in a serious relationship with one for two years before the inevitable reality issues of a global relationship showed their ugly head. I did the Cape Town thing too. Shark dive wine tasting tour. South Africa is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been aside from the openly anti white racist government of course. And the women….wow
