Overview

Bucharest is an acceptable, walkable city but pales in comparison to other Romanian cities. To give you some perspective: it’s not as memorable as Belgrade but it has a lot more character than Sofia.

The Girls

Christina Dumitru

When you get to Bucharest you will be merry. Romanians girls are foxy.  They are slight and splendidly cute; stylish and pretty bright. One thing you will notice about Bucharest is couples have no problem making out in public. The girls are quite liberal in this regard. Although its not quite as easy to close here as the Eastern Slavic countries, it’s a great place for dating. From my experience the girls in other Romanian cities are much more friendly than those in Bucharest. That said, the quality here is hard to beat. A lot of the younger generation speak English and peakcocking garners a good deal of interest. Negs will knock the chicks down a peg or two (a lot of them need it).

Nightlife Recommendations

The nightlife is slightly dispersed. The old town/Lipscani has the biggest concentration of bars.

B52

Lots of cute student girls and cheap booze. If you want to cut out the middle man go to Piranha which is actually on campus!

Control Club

Kind of a hipster place, the girls here are a little alternative but receptive. I had a great time here. It has a kind of underground feel to it and often has live bands. It also has a lively bar and a dance floor. Busy most nights.

Getting High (courtesy of webehigh.com)

Legislation: Very strict. You can’t be arrested for consumption but 1g in your pocket, if found, means jail for sure.

Law Enforcement: Undercover cops in most of the clubs, pubs, bars. Usual policemen knows the look and smell of weed, so home is the best place to enjoy your smoking.

Where to buy Marijuana in Bucharest: Just friends and friends of friends. Asking ppl on the street or clubs is a bad idea. Don’t try to get hooked up from people you don’t know. It’s also more likely to find hash than weed. Where NOT to buy marijuana: clubs, bars, discos; suburban, ghetto-like areas; concerts or public events. In general, in Romania marijuana or hash can be bought safely only from people you know. Don’t buy from strangers !

Prices:

Depending on where it came from, prices/gram are variable:
10-14 eur for better romanian weed [will get you going] 15-25 eur for imports [from Germany or The Netherlands – real good stuff] 20 eur for the best hash you’ll ever smoke [Made in Romania]

My Bucharest Experience

I enjoyed this city. I also had success hooking up, but instead of a Romanian girl I end up with a Norwegian. I’m definitely not complaining.

hey nice post, i have read somewhere that romanian girls are easy to pick up though?
looking forward to more european countries rviews…. maybe poland or spain?

    • naughtynomad November 20, 2010 at 4:06 pm #

I might whip up a post on Krakow. My mate just went to Bucharest and hooked up by arranging a date online. I found the surrounding non-EU countries easier to pick up.

A lot of mens of Romania (and I am agree with them, I am from Ro also)

-in Bucharest usually will find material girl with a cold heart, even if they are pretty. Cheap whores you can have with 15-20 eur (and are beautiful). Timisoara (Arad is a better choice in the area) is somehow the same but not so many handsome girls.
-in the north-west of Ro Transilvania area have not so beautiful womens but friendly (Sibiu, Cluj, and so and so)
-Very beautiful and also friendly girls are in Moldavia, north-east of Ro, they also have strong influence by Ukraine genetics. Iasi, Suceava and all the area recommended. Also there are not a turistic area (only monasteries have turists in Moldavia).
-Oltenia in the south…small girls with not so nice manners. I don;t like them.
        – P.S…I was surprised about some small city near Bucharest…Calarasi have incredible girls.
        – In Constanta at the sea there are…a lot of pirates :))

        Hope the info it’s useful.

I will likely be back in each day or two. thanks for an excellent web-site.

Hey NN… I read in another site that one of favorite cities in all of EE is Brasov. Why no write-up?
By the way I’ll be in Skopje in June thanks to you! Any updates on the better clubs or bars?
Thanks and keep up the good work!

    • Naughty Nomad June 1, 2011 at 2:27 pm #

@Brazmerican: Funny, I’m in Skopje in 2 days. I’ll let you know. I don’t have any good info on Brasov… it was a ghost town when I was there (mid week in the depths of winter), nice place though, but there’s plenty of better places in the region.

  4. Brazmerican June 1, 2011 at 3:18 pm #

Thanks for the reply NN! However, I’m not trying to call you out on this, but this is from one of your posts.

75% of Romanian come from Latin and its actually is the purest derivative..
It terms of top cities in EE.
    My favourites place is:

    Tallinn, Estonia.Heart

    then:

    Budapest, Hungary
    Skopje, Macedonia
    Krakow, Poland
    Brasov, Romania

The reason this is so important to me is like I said, not to call you out, but because I’m basing a lot of your trip on stuff you’ve written, and I really like the idea of Romania without Bucharest. So….. any ideas other than Brazov or Bucharest? My game is based on meeting “normal” girls in second tier cities, where there’s less labeling going on.
I know you’re a busy man, but with fame comes responsibility! 😉
p.s. Can we expect an update on Skopje soon?

    • Naughty Nomad June 1, 2011 at 3:48 pm #

@Brazmerican: That post was written previous to the Siege of the Adriatic and my visit to Ukraine and Belarus. My ranking have changed BIG TIME. I’d put Kiev, Montenegro, Sarajevo and Hvar island all above Brasov now…
      Skopje update coming soon!

Bucharest is amazing!!! Its cheap, there is plenty f nightlife, and the girls are stunning. I think that 7 out of 10 are stunning girls, with the highest ratio I have seen in my life. Further, the girls are attracted to men from the west. So if you speak English or say you are from western Europe you have a great chance to get laid!!

Further, there are the prostitutes. Again most of them are way above average. And the price is low. Typically between 10 and 30 USD. For more info check out this page: anuntul.ro (and go to “matriminial” and “ea cauta partener)”. And then use google translate. Its amazing. It usually works this way that you call the girl, and then you give the phone to the taxi driver, who then takes you there. However, its not all the girls that speak English, but its worth the effort 😉

when will there be an update for this article? it was written in 2010….i suggest you go back and check out the city again 😉

A hot Romanian girl walked right up to me one night in Lipscani recently and picked me up!
I was sitting alone at a terrace table outside on of the bars there having a beer minding my own business (I think the bar was called Bazaar) and she was with a table full of friends next to me.
Ended up dating her for almost 3 months and the sex was amazing!
She used to drop her clothes at the drop of a hat and come sit on my lap and ask me if I wanted to fuck her while we were alone drinking together in her flat!!

im here right now in Bucharest so give you my experience but it may well vary from others.
the city is not bad, its like a slightly run down Budapest. before I talk about the women I should mention my type as one guys 7 or 8 is anothers 3 or 4 etc. I’m attracted to curvy busty peach bumed girls. its true a lot of girls here have nice arses and sometimes nice tits and arses. I’m out daygaming most days here around the main areas. I see a lot of 7s and ocassional 8s but riga, Budapest and Ukraine is much better in terms of quality and flow for myself. others may have different experiences depending on many factors. depending on your skill level if your beginning or intimidate id say Romanian girls are generaly not easy, can be hard to stop them sometimes. whoever says its easy either picked the right girl or has great/advanced in game. I would get an apartment near unirea mall this is best location for daygame and guttergame daygame at night. download uber if you need a taxi as local taxis may try charge you 3x the normal. great places to eat are “la mama” and la placinte” a average meal will cost around 20-35 lei. was expecting it to be 2/3rds cheaper than uk, turns out its only arounds 1/3 at best. I hear constanza beach is amazing in aug but will have to see for myself to confirm this. the average girl is medium size id say 10-12 few skinny girls. most girls are dark hairs and dark eyes, 90% id say. but you can still find few blondes about and red heads if you choose. for nightlife wed go blue bar has students if you like 18-21 year olds there accommodation is next to the club. on Thursday go “gaia” but I wouldn’t go there til 1.30am as doesn’t get busy til then shuts at 4am. I hear boa they put on good shows but must people are stuck at tables and its hard to move around and approach. the unirea mall is good for daygame aswell. around 5pm-7pm there are non stop opportunities. most girls speak English. the area code is +40. ive heard brasov another city about 3 hours by train is better than Bucharest but yet to confirm.

update… bring an umbrella (preferably a golf one as to cover you and the cover and also keep your feet dry as little ones might not do that. as it can rain in april. its a lot quier in the city for girls and most places are shut including resturants and malls in easter which is 14th-17th april although one is all you need. ive just eaten a burger at “bordello” in the old town best burger ive had in my life. only about 20odd lei (5/6euros)

  15. cheeky chappy April 19, 2017 at 12:30 pm #

update…Bucharest is good enough, quite a few 7s and ocassional rarer 8s around but I would warn again coming here if your a beginning as I class myself as slightly obove a beginning but if your getting laid once or more in your city youl probally do a lot better gamewise, as ive had to approach a lot of girls and only had few numbers no dates or lays so far my experience wont be as enjoyable as if I had dates and lays. so the city is good enough there are a lot worser cities to go. just depends on your skill level wither your have a better time or not if your coming here mainly for trying game out. if your advanced you could stay here 7-10 days and get laid 1-3 x maybe. if your intermediate 2weeks maybe get 1-2 like me your skill level is not that good even 3 weeks may not be enough. so like I say if your a beginning id rethink coming here and wait until your atleast intimidate to visit (maybe go to prague, Budapest, riga instead), but if your advance youl prob have a lot of fun.

  16. cheeky chappy April 21, 2017 at 7:29 pm #

update.. if your on a budget like I am its SO much cheaper to buy your food from the supermarket. a great one is called “Carrefour” its on the left side of the uri main mall where newyorker is just go up the road take a right youl see row of metal barriers then its left.
MASSIVE selection of food from all over the world. free wifi no password or sign in required here also. bought pasta, humus, spaghetti, cous cous cheap easy stuff cause I’m a lazy cook. for the cost of 3-4 meals you can get a weeks shopping. didn’t realise this until today. also if your buying wine buy/bring a screw with you as most wines are not the easy twist tops where you don’t require a wine screw. take pics of what you want before you go shopping as this is easier than trying to translate to Romanian so can just point at your phone. will check out Brasov wed heard its like a mini pargue more beautiful and more higher quality women will have to see for myself and report back. the train from Bucharest to Brasov takes 3hours aparetnly. first train leaves at 6am, 2nd at 7am. will check out peles castle in “Sinaia” as heard its a lot more pretty than “Bran castle” Draculas castle. enterence fee for both is “35 lei” Train cost “90” lei return castle opens at 10am.

Hi Guys, I’ve just had two amazing weeks in Romania and I have to say it is with the heaviest of hearts that I am now leaving. I spent a terrific week in Bucharest and one of the best 10 days of my life in Brasov.
My Bucharest experience: On arrival I was blown away at the communist era architecture, the hype of the city and of course, the gorgeous female inhabitants! My view of the ladies here is that they are “top shelf” Most are solid sevens” at least, with many stunners walking around. You will find that they all speak English, they are super friendly and more than willing to talk to you. They will laugh at your bad Romanian, (learn a few words guys it’s so much fun and the girls love it!) They will dance with you, drink with you and if you play the game well, they are eager to meet you for a second date and go home with you! I went out pretty much every night in old town, I prefer live music venues and had an absolute ball, lots of gorgeous girls who just want to have fun!

My first day there I approached two lovely girls in the street asking for directions that I already knew, chatted for 10 minutes, I said it was really nice to meet them, I went to walk away and the one I was really interested in came running up to me to give me her phone number! I love this place! Got my flag the next night! Following night I made the mistake of succumbing to the advances of a hot American girl, within an hour I she was trying to song me and I took her home an hour later. While this was easy and a fun experience, she tells me in the morning at breakfast how’s she’s a femme and goes to regular woman’s rights marches – I just laughed and said “great, your shout for breakfast” haha told her I don’t date femmes, dump the feminist attitude and I’ll date you again. She called me a few times, I honestly couldn’t be bothered. Two days later while out on a Tuesday night having a quiet beer meet another incredible Romanian girl but didn’t follow up because I was moving on.

My Brasov experience: The first thing you notice when you get here is the change of pace. Brasov, while busy, is less hectic than Bucharest! A beautiful setting and with truly beautiful girls. The girls are a step up in every way, they smile at you, they don’t mind stopping and talking to you and I reckon they enjoy meeting foreigners. They are very warm, genuine, friendly and super hot! (All of them just laughed at me and thought I was crazy coming to Romania in the middle winter from Australia, it was a great ice breaker!) I spent time with two lovely girls here, one of which I really, really connected with. It was hard to leave.
Romania is a land were feminism has not taken hold, or should I say, “reared its ugly head” (literally!) Guys, what you get here is beautiful women being just that – beautiful women!
To surmise, Romanian girls are just lovely in every way, wonderful company, smart, genuine and uncomplicated. They are beautiful, passionate, appreciative and most of all, if you are lucky enough to find out – they really are for keeps!
    Shaun (Australia)
    – In the past 2 months while based in Montenegro, I’ve been to Albainia, Macedonia and Bulgaria as well, if anyone is interested I can give updates for all! I am currently on the train to Budapest, happy travels guys

    • Cesar February 17, 2018 at 2:22 am #

Dude, would definitely like to hear updates on these other places. Also, in your opinion do you think that I would have luck with the women there? My looks are on the good side of average and my interpersonal skills are good, so that usually boosts up my confidence. I also dress well with sort of a hipster vibe. What I worry about is being latino. I’m vaguely middle eastern looking, so I don’t know if I would be discriminated against or if I could play up any exotic interest being both American and brown.

      • Shaun March 1, 2018 at 3:10 pm #

Hey Cesar, mate with a friendly smile, some bad local lingo (just a few words) you get a giggle and instant interest Whenever I looked around a place There were always eyes looking at me! With the right attitude, remember the girls just want to have fun, you will have no problems meeting them with a fun gentleman demenor – Check out Bratislava in Slovakia- they love the Latin look especially in a Salsa club called Havana!
Bulgaria was awesome as well, girls are super hot but they know it, and smart they can smell a rat in an instant, but once you get past the icy defenses – they are incredibly warm and passionate! Check out the Karaoke bar in the centre of Sofia- I got up, sang a song and got the hottest girl there!
Biggest disappointment was Skopje, girls are Ice queens now. Local guys reckon the have what they call “Hollywood disease” and are pretty up themselvest. That said, I met some lovely girls!
I wont crap on, but spend time in Budapest- I had a ball, be prepared to party till dawn, man can Hungarian girls drink and party!
Czech girls – super hot, confident and feminine- I met a special one! Get to Slovenia as well
Ive spent nearly 3 months in SE Europe- I don’t want to leave!
