Overview

Ahh.. Baltic Bliss. This medieval city is one of my favourite places in Europe. The old town is incredibly charming and the women are incredibly beautiful. Don’t miss the Old Town Days festival in June.

Old Town days

The Girls

Carmen: Talent from Tallinn

Hubba hubba! How hot you think the girls are will depend on what direction you are coming from. If you’re coming from Riga, Latvia – you’re spoilt for life and nothing will compare anyway! If you’re coming from nearly every other country in the world you will think you struck genetic gold! The quality is supreme; lots of slim blondes with great smiles. The ratio is you’re favour too! Estonia is one the only countries with more girls than guys. They are very approachable in bars and during the day. The city is small so sometimes the girls get a little paranoid as they don’t want to appear promiscuous. Kissing is public is fine, but getting her number for a private meet up is the best strategy if you take it further.

Nightlife Recommendations

Levist Väljas

This cosy, underground bar has cheap beer and live music. It’s ideal for a pint and some chat with your buddies. It picks up late and has a great atmosphere on the weekends. It’s also a local hang out, attracting an alternative crowd and the sexy rebellious types. There’s no tourists and the girls end up picking US up in this place.

Shooters

My bro who lived here several weeks reckons this is the place to be!

Hollywoods

Five stories, 3 bars and girls everywhere. Need I say more?

*Another source suggests club Venus as a good pick up place.

Getting High (courtesy of webehigh.com)

Legislation: Estonia has softened its approach to drugs. In 2002, new laws reclassified ‘small amounts for personal use’ as a misdemeanor (previously, it was a criminal offense). However, those at the top end can get into trouble.

Law enforcement: Police in Tallinn are everywhere – especially in the old town. while they never really pull you over and I’ve never seen anyone get searched by them in the street, their strong presence alone is cause to exercise common sense. Apparently, they can issue a charge sheet, but apparently, they almost always suspend or defer the misdemeanor hearing in the interest of efficiency. However, if there are special circumstances, you could get into trouble. Furthermore, whatever you do, don\’t drive under the influence. In Tallinn, police come down harshly on drink driving and some traffic offences. If you are pulled over and you are stoned on top of that, you may well see the inside of a jail cell.

Where to buy marijuana: Tough one. The best advise I can give is to find well connected ex-pats. You need someone who knows someone. The belief that you’ll just happen to come across it sooner or later is wishful thinking to say the least. The latest reports say “Your best bet would be going through Old Town asking people. Just look for people who look like they smoke, if a person is wearing Air Forces (nike) he’ll most likely hook you up if he trusts you, he’ll most likely speak decent English too. Almost all people that wear “rap” gear smoke mary in Tallinn. Make sure you watch out for the cops while doing so and make sure to make the person trust you somehow. There is a lot of undercover cops in Old Town. So most people will most likely ignore you, but if they trust you it all depends on how much dope you are looking for. They’ll most likely have to take you somewhere safe to make a deal or they’ll have to go pick it up if you’re looking to get lots. Go through parks, you might find someone smoking there. Ask around the kids hanging around in Park Lepistiku in Mustamae, you’ll most likely get a hook up there.

Marijuana prices: About $18 USD for a gram. Latest reports put it higher “Starts at 35 euro a gram but if you need a lot the price drops.

Brands: Skunk is available. The skunk I came across was fruity and full of crystals. Really blew my head off too, but apparently, it’s not always that good.

More information: Relatively lax laws, but few people smoke it in estonia (even young people). Alcohol is the drug of choice by and large and pot is simply difficult to come across.

Put your Bob Marley shirt on and make sure people belive your actually not a cop.

My Tallin Experience

Tallinn is beautiful to walk around in the day time. We were there during the old day’s festival and the buzz in the city was electric!

First night : went to Levist Väljas with four friends. I got a pre-invitation from a white-blonde emo chick at the next table. Went over asked her name, then just kissed her cheek and went to the bathroom. She later asked me to go outside for a “cigarette”, we just left and made out like crazy. I took her number and carried on.

Second night : invited her to my hostel for a bottle of red. After the bottle the conversation went something like this…

“So am I staying with you tonight? I need to tell Mama if I’m coming home” She asked.

“Yeah, if you want” I said. (holding back my elation)

“You know I used to swallow swords in the festival.” she informed me.

“Really?”  (I tried not to cream myself)

“Yeah..  I’ve been told I give the best blow jobs in Tallinn”  (Holy. Shit.)

She did.

How to smuggle drugs across 7 borders in Africa

Posted in Weed on April 30th, 2010 by Naughty Nomad

Step 1) Buy a kilo of weed in Ethiopia for less than $5.

Step 2) Take an 18 hour ride on top of an armed convey to Nairobi and bribe the guards at the Kenyan border.

Step 3) Arrive in Nairobi, then get stoned and go on safari

Step 4) Go to Uganda (they don’t check the bus)

Step 5) Get stoned and go white water rafting. YEAH!!

Step 6) After that, get stoned and decide to go into North Kivu, an active warzone in the Congo! YEAH!!

Step 7) Arrive in the Congo and realise you’re a idiot… Why are you in the Congo? This was such a bad idea. I mean, you could get killed… don’t spend too long here. Travel through the jungle bribing the various militia with cigarettes and booze hoping they don’t slice you open…

Step 8 ) Get to the UN protected area of Goma, PHEW! (bribe the guards so they don’t find your stash)

Step 9) Realise there’s no electricity here and pay for a bed in the local brothel with your cheap-ass Ethiopian weed. It’s good currency here.

Step 10) Wake up, get stoned and decide it was more fun outside the UN proctected area.

Step 11) Get to your nearest Pymgy tribe and celebrate a local wedding! WAY HAY!

Step 12) Illegally enter Rwanda (with the weed)

Step 13) Get on a plane to Kilimanjaro (they probably don’t check the machines)

Step 14) Go to Zanzibar (distract the bag inspector) and sell some of the weed to the rastas – who sell to the tourists. Now you gotz money!

Step 15) Get stoned on a train to Zambia (hell give the train attendant a blow!)

Step 16) Get stoned and bungee jump over Victoria falls!

.Step 17) Get sto…. wha…  hey what happened all the weed?

I took this on Dili beach

Dili in a word: Occupied.

S.T.L: ?
City guide ratings explained

Costs €$£
Beer: Around €2.50
Bed: €10 for a dorm
Bud: ?
Board: €10 for a basic pizza.
Budget other: Dili is expensive because of the UN presence, taxi trips to Dili beach are around $3.

Overview

Lazy, small and chilled out. Only problem –  the place is occupied by loud mouth, sleazy UN  soldiers. As a result the place is expensive and the locals will often presume you are one of them. Put let them know you’re a tourist and they will warm and treat you like family. Dili beach is GREAT – beautifully clean with incredible sunsets.

'Liberated' Dili chick

The Girls

The culture here is very conservative and 95% of women don’t drink alcohol. East Timorese faces are not as attractive as their Indo counterparts. However on a rare occasion, you do encounter the odd good looking one –  particularly those mixed with Portuguese blood. Alas, some nightspots will be 90% male. The other 10% are mostly ex-pat women. If you’re lucky, when you’re on at prowl there might be  1 or 2 doable Timorese girls – tops. It may seem difficult to pick here with all the muscular miltary competition, but if you’re in flow you can do it! The girls here have great bodies by the way! Aside from the vapid nightlife you can pick up the locals with day game. If you do, be warned there’s a good chance you could end up with a virgin. If you’re the first guy they have sexual relations with, be prepared for constant texts, email  and declarations of “I love you! I love you”. It’s not cool, trust me.

Nightlife Recommendations
You have limited choices during the week. But if you want the REAL Dili…

Follow the music

Change partners!

Follow the music into the slums. 20 minutes later you will find a clearing PACKED with Timorese girls and guys. There’s no alcohol, just ballroom dancing. You will be the only white people, and treated like celebrities as a result. Every song the first man who asks a girl to dance gets the privilege. They will dance with you NO problem. These girls are nearly all virgins and rarely speak English but it makes for an unforgettable night and is great fun!

Dancing at slum party!

Other nightlife:

Motion

Thursday nights here are the best craic in Dili! Anyone who’s anyone comes here. There’s live music and a good female options. You can hook up, but you need to put an effort in.

Castaway Bar
Good place to brings dates!

Getting High

It’s hard to find. Look for your nearest Canadian expat.

My Dili Experience

Somehow, I got lucky twice here. Once by a rich Indonesian cutie  who picked me up in her car after I gave her my number in a bar. She wined and dined me, then brought me back to her place. The second time was my last night in Dili. I went to motion and managed to pick up the sexiest Timorese girl in the place. It took a bit of work but a false take away got her in the end. I also had oral sex with another Timorese girl I met in the supermarket… She then started stalking me… in one day I had 23 missed calls! 23 missed calls!

Shoring

Posted in Shoring on April 29th, 2010 by Naughty Nomad

Shoring” is the polite way of saying ‘seducing or scoring whores’. A person ‘shores’ when they have sex with a girl who may be a prostitute, but no payment is involved. Bar fining is not considered shoring. Shoring only occurs when the girl is genuinely attracted to a mate. She will often forego potential earnings with paying customers in this circumstance. It is not unusual for a man to have no idea the girl is a working girl. Shoring is common practice in parts of the developing world. If you shore, protection is recommended.

The word shoring was invented myself and a friend while travelling in South East Asia in the summer of 2009.

If you want some tips on how to Shore, check my post Shoring 101.

Costs €$£

Beer: Around  €1

Budget other: €10  airport departure tax

Overview

Manilla is riddled with guns and poverty, but it’s more laid back and less hectic than Bangkok. One night here and you’ll never be the same again. Just follow my night-life recommendations.

Cathleen Lee, Filipina

The Girls

You really have your pick in Manilla -tanned, toned, petite cuties everywhere. They’re all super friendly and speak English with sexy Latina accents. The women here are also the coolest in East Asia. They are playful and up for anything. If there was a Sex Olympics, the Philippines would probably win the gold. There is a lot of average looking girls but you do encounter the odd stunner! Nearly 90% of girls here want to meet a western guy. But beware, if you want to avoid the hookers and are in Manila for more than two days click here; if you want to avoid the lady-boys click here. There are plenty of normal, genuine girls to choose from. Day game is where it’s at in Manila. They are very approachable -in malls, the street or just about anywhere. You might even meet the love of life here. Filipinas are said to make the best wives in the world.  This is my favourite country in South East Asia for a reason. Manila is your playground.

Here are 10 reason for dating a Filipina girl.

Nightlife Recommendations

Manila has a lot of options with cheap beer and great live music. And if there’s a girl involved? Well why not!

If you only have one night in Manila here’s the plan:

Cowboy Grill

Come here to start your night for some of the best steak around. They got great bands and  beer by the barrel! then…

Manila Bay (formally LA cafe)

This may just be the best bar on the fucking planet. WOMEN GALORE! 24 hours a day! (see pic) But beware, this is “freelancers” bar and it’s seedy as hell. You will need to fight the girls of with a stick. Personally, I’ve never paid for sex in my life, but I’ve never went home alone from this bar! Some of these girls are working but know some just want intimacy with attractive mates. Pick the right one, play it cool (& play it shy) and money won’t come up in conversation once. They won’t even ask for a drink. Even if you get unlucky,  this place is a tourist attraction in it’s own right. There’s great live music upstairs every night.

Getting High (courtesy of webehigh.com)

Legislation: About 5grams can land you life as the death penalty has been abolished for the meantime. Possession of any drug is considered a henious crime.

If you get caught and convicted, your facing 20+ years in one of the worse prisons in the world OR your gettin the death penalty!!!! BE DISCREET!!!

Law enforcement: If you get in trouble, try to get out as fast you can with the minimum number of people and pesos getting involved. Keep a few US $100 bills in your wallet (no ID, just money). The green $$$ talks if you get busted.

and also: “Philippine drug laws are extremely strict, especially for foreigners!!! Bribing most cops will buy you a “Get out of jail free” card. If you ever get caught just flatter the officers about their “professionalism” and how you believe their country is “by far” the best on Earth!!! After about 3-4 minutes of that tell the officers you want to make a deal! Friends of mine have done this with no problems, but DONT let them take you back to the station! You\’ll wind up having to bribe every officer and it’ll cost you around $3000 as opposed to maybe $400!!!”

Where to buy marijuana in Manila:
Pasay- go to ‘o farrel street (along park ave.) and ask around for butch he’ll hook you up with a sweet 5er. that’s about 50grams of weed.

Malate- Find Pablo Ocampo Street, and locate Vito Cruz Cityland. Directly in front of the building, and across the street, there are a group of tricycle drivers(Yellow Tricycles). Get the attention of one of the drivers,or you might go so far as to get inside the tricycle. Once your in the tricycle he’ll probably ask you “Where to BOSS” or something to that effect. Then just tell him “Marijuana my friend?”. He will understand and probably just nod his head yes! Then you make your order. Before I found my current hydroponics dealer I did exactly this EVERYDAY!!! Once you make a good deal, get the guys cell number so you can text contact him during your next craving! Conceal your address and name!!! Your on your way to a Shitty stone, but its better than nada!!! I know my fellow Cannaseurs agree!!!!”

Marijuana prices: It’s quite cheap in manila, they sell weed in very small bags that are good to fill a joint, we payed about 100 pesos (2 dollars) for 7 of those bags.and a recent report added: “Kilo from $380 Qty deals will get 2 to 3 foot “stalks” unpressed. Nice, sometimes seedless, sticky, available next day., quality varies shipment to shipment.

Smaller Deals Quality may vary. Street dealers will charge $50 US for a pressed amount the size of a Marlbor Box.”

another reporter added:
“$1=Php 50
1 kilo of brick weed (yuck) Php 3000
1 kilo of unpressed stalks PHP 5000
You can buy a 5er which means Php 500 you get 3-5 unpressed stalks a “tea bag” is about Php 50

My Manila Experience

I’ve been to Manila twice and never spent a night alone. Each night with sexy, beautiful little creatures. I love this fucking country.

Chişinău City Guide

Chisinau Apartment block

Chisinau in a word: Deceptive.
C.O.H: 3 / 5
Q.O.G: 4 / 5
S.T.L: 2 / 5  (just bribe em!)
City guide ratings explained

Costs €$£

Beer:Around  €0.80
Bed: €12 for a private room
Bud: €20 per matchbox
Board: €2.50 for a pizza!
Budget other: If you’re going to Tiraspol,
prepare to shell out some bribe money.
Currency Conversion

Overview

Chisinau may not be very pretty but the women sure are. Most people who come here say it’s depressing, grey and no fun. But with a few tips, you won’t be one of those people (and I was there in winter).

Moldovan Export

The Girls

OK, so Chisinau has little to offer traditional tourists, but if you like red wine and good conversation with smart & beautiful women, you will love this small ex-soviet city. They are hot! Moldovan girls can range from sexy blonde Slavs  to softer Romanian Brunettes. Moldova is the poorest country in Europe, therefore many of the women get highly educated so they have to ability to emigrate. They are sophisticated and open minded and are more than happy to go for a drink with a western guy. The amount of English speakers is better here than a lot of Eastern Europe. They will expect the guy to pay for drinks, but Moldova makes great wine and it’s cheap. What more could you want? Some prep work helps, Moldovan girls are a lot more receptive to arranging a meet up via the internet when compared to girls in the Balkans or Baltics.

Nightlife Recommendations

Be careful or you could get SCREWED with the bill. Some places are seriously expensive. I found a great little place PERFECT for a romantic evening.

Zone Romantica

Near the main square with a quiet and relaxing vibe. I used to take dates here and they loved it. A bottle of red wine and a cheeseboard was less than $10. Most Moldovan girls drink wine.

Others

Soho is the biggest club, but I preferred Star track.

Getting High

You need to talk with the hostel owners or some of the local students. I was lucky because one of my date smoked. She told me it’s hard to get but some people grow it in the countryside. The police won’t even recognise the smell, but if they do catch you a €20 bribe does the trick. Corruption is rife. It’s around €20 a matchbox. :)

My Chisinau Experience

I got arrested twice in one day on a trip to Tirsapol in the self procliamed Republic of Transnistria (the same place Style and Mystery had trouble). Once was for ‘impersonation of a police officer’ for wearing camo combats. I had to pay €20 to get out. 30 minutes before that, I was done for having a picture of a naked Moldovan girl on my camera! (they check camera at the border) It was another €20, but it would have been twice that if I didn’t speak some Russian.  Apart from that I loved Moldova.  I was in Chisinau 3 nights and arranged a date every day with 3 different girls (via social networking sites). One of them had only a few teeth (didn’t show that in her profile!) but the other two were sexy,  smart and I made out with both of them. I even took one home on the second meet up! This is great place to date high quality women.

Seoul City Guide

Posted in City Guides, South Korea on April 27th, 2010 by Naughty Nomad

Central Seoul

Seoul in a word: Surprising.
C.O.H: 2 / 5  (for locals)
Q.O.G: 2.5 / 5
S.T.L: 2 / 5
City guide ratings explained

Costs €$£

Beer:Around  €2
Bed: €12 dorm, €15-20 for private
Bud: Bad. €30+ per gram :/
Board: €7 for a good Sunday dinner.
Budget other: Taxis at night ramp up costs.

Currency Conversion

Overview

Seoul is surprising. It’s way ahead of the west in terms of technology and the lifestyle fro English-teachers over there is sweet. Unlike many of the other Asian super cities, Seoul has a nice low key appeal. The culture takes awhile to get your head around but you can fun here.

The Girls

Honey Lee: the exception!

When you actually go to Korea, the women can be quite underwhelming from what you might expect. Some may feel I’ve rated Korean girls unfairly but this is relative and I will explain why. The women have a nice light skin tone, slim bodies and great legs but their faces are normally bland and there are very few ‘beautiful’ girls. Individuality is frowned upon; it’s rare you see a girl worth turning your head for and even if you do, 80% of the time they turn out to be Japanese tourists. Places like Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and cities in South East Asia have far more beautiful women than Seoul. Girls in Seoul are interested in foreign men, but also take a bit of work as many expect you to be their boyfriend before sex. Nearly all girls live with their parents before marriage. That said, one night stands happen. Look for a girl who smokes – the social rebel. Alternatively, other ethnic groups are far more promiscuous! It’s actually easy to get laid here – the place is awash with horny English teachers who aren’t accountable to anyone. They all have their own apartment and the short-term traveller is perfect for a good fuck.

Nightlife Recommendations

Hongdae

Oi bar

The best place for meeting locals, but it’s a place for the weekend. It’s beside a university and many of the venues here are very unique and memorable. Check out Oi bar for the craic to begin with. No shoes allowed in this underground cave bar! Order a hookah pipe and some beers to get in the mood. Not a great place for girls though, a good pre-bar.  For girls and general good fun, a great place to go is a 3 story venue called Go Gos . The last Friday of each month in Hongdae is “Club Day”, a wristband-powered event which allows entry to more than a dozen clubs for the price of one.

Itaewon

Nightlife district has lots of options. Did someone say PUB CRAWL! Itaewon has something for everyone. There’s a lot of white chicks and some Korean girls looking for an English-speaking boyfriend. Itaewon is the best place to get laid. Parts of Itaewon are a little seedy, a welcome undercurrent.

Getting High (courtesy of webehigh.com)

Nomad’s input = find the nearest Canadian!

Legislation: Any marijuana related activities are strictly illegal. If u get caught, u are lucky to be banished. You get locked up in the jail or if you are lucky enough to be rich, u can get out of it paying the very expensive fine.

Law Enforcement: The Popos are strict about marijuana. Most Korean think marijuana is a hardcore drug. There are a lot of PoPo’s snitches, So watch out.
The PoPos have all the right to search you anytime they want and have your urine tested whenever they want. They even make a deal with you. They ask you to tell 5 pot heads you know or 1 dealer, or you get locked up in the jail or get banished if you are lucky enough.(US Citizens tend to be banished more than other countries’ citizens. Remember, they can have your urine tested anytime they want and if your urine is positive for marijuana or any kinds of drug, you are doomed.

It can go either way. Most people wouldn’t know what it smells or looks like but if you get in any kind of trouble with the law you may have to take a test. Showing a positive is about the same as if they saw you smoking.

Where to buy marijuana in Seoul: In Apgujeong, there is a recently opened hookah cafe. Look for the foreigners hanging around there, just be wary of the coppers. Itaewon and Hong Dae are always good places to check out as well. a lot of young canadians come to South Korea to teach English and they all hang out in major two spots. Hong-Dea club street, and
Iteawon (there is an American army base in Iteawon, the whole place
is filled with Americans (and others – Europeans etc.)
right by the Iteawon subway station, there is a club called “Lime Light”
friday, saturday nights are packed (cover 20$), you could probably find some products there if you ask the right people at Hong-dea club street, it will be much easier to find the product. if you look closely, you could probably find bunch of guys in parking lots, corners, etc. just ask them.

Marijuana Prices in Seoul : Varies, I had a dealer who got his shipped in from America, he went for a solid 30000 won (around 30 bucks, US) a gram, he was nice as well so every time I bought, he lit up a few, free blunts with me. I’ll have to say 30,000 won-50,000 per gram.

prices are different every time, I would say around $35~50 per gram.
cheaper if they are friendly..

My Seoul Experience

I went to visit my cousin teaching English in Korea. I was there for 4 nights. He showed me all the best spots but bear in mind his priority was beer, not girls. That said, two of the nights we went out I was taken home to be used like a piece of meat. Once by a Canadian and once by an American. I had a great time here.  For those considering going over to teach English, the lifestyle over there is  better than the likes of Ireland or the U.K. Most teachers I talked to end up staying far longer than intended.

Overview

Minsk is cold. When I was there it was -25 degrees celcius. The city is has a cold war and lonely feel to it. The people are the best thing about Minsk.

The Girls

Typical Minski

They call Belarus a supermodel breeding ground. It’s true. Tall, slim and stunning – Belarussians are attractive by any standard. They may look unhappy, but behind their stern façades they’re extremely warm and make a serious effort to make you feel welcome. A lot of the younger generation have some English. You can hook up here in pubs but know that people in Minsk are very “cliquey”. I’ve you’re going solo, try get on-line to arrange a date before hand. The girl will expect you to pay for everything and a lot of them live with their parents. This is great place to meet girls with beauty and brains, as many of them need to get educated to get the fuck outta there!

Nightlife Recommendations

Graffiti

Me in Graffiti

Located on the ground floor of a student dorm, this is the one the coolest places I’ve been to in Eastern Europe!  You have to go to the Friday Funk party when this small, atmospheric place is pumping! Hot girls dancing on the bar and the best DJs I’ve ever heard. The music is so funky EVERYONE is in the party mood. The crowd here is down to earth and girls here are super approachable. Cheap drinks too! Strongly Recommended!!

More Graffiti

Drozhzhi United

An Irish pub were you have some hope of finding some English speakers, this place is a refreshing slice of the firmilar in the middle of gloomy Minsk. It’s a cosy expat hang out that’s nice and busy most nights.

Getting High (courtesy of webehigh.com)

Legislation: Just like most other psychedelic substances, marijuana is highly illegal in Belarus. The law used to distinguish between possession and distribution, which meant people with small amounts could get away for a fine or a suspended sentence. Now the laws have tightened, and depending on your situation and on the mood of the law enforcement officials, possessing any amounts of ganja can cost you anything from huge bribes for several authorities to 8-10 years in prison. It may be easier for a tourist to bribe his or her way out, but it will be a pain in the ass anyway and testing your luck is not recommended.

Law enforcement: It is usually not that easy to get out of trouble as in neighboring countries, like Russia, Ukraine, or Baltic states, where tourists are aplenty and the police are more relaxed towards these things, while bribes are more common. Cops in Minsk are even rumored to break car windows with their elbows now and then, as soon as they see people smoking in the vehicle. Some tell stories about undercover policemen offering drugs to people and arresting them later on, but this is really rare. On the whole, expect a law enforcement agent to mean business if you got caught. Low-level authorities are not that easy to be bribed, as anti-corruption laws are strict. The legislation gets more flexible for you if you have contacts among the officials of higher ranks.

Stay away from dealers and known drug spots as much as you can, as a police raid may happen at any time and you might be busted for no good reason. The police got a plan of raids and arrests they have to stick you, so even if a cop is friendly to you, he will have to detain you because of the plan. Smoking in public is absolutely not recommended, and if you have to smoke outdoors, make sure you control the situation so that no local militia come out of the blue. Lighting up your pipe in the country is in most cases a better idea than doing so in urban areas, so if you have buddies with a car, go rural, if it’s summer.

The general strategy if you want to get high in Minsk is getting a local acquaintance who has experience with these things. Attempting to get high on your own is risky.

Where to buy marijuana: Street purchases are extremely rare even for local marijuana consumers. It is not common to buy drugs in the streets of Belarus at all, and it will stay uncommon for the nearest years. Minsk does not get lots of tourists and the laws are tough, so street trade is nonexistent. Little has been heard of drug deals in bars, too.

One of the known spots is Zimniaya street in the industrial suburbs of Minsk, a scary location with shabby houses inhabited by mean-looking gypsies and lurking gangs on plenty of cheap booze. The gypsies are mostly engaged in heroin distribution, but if you would like to see the seamy side of Belarusian drug life, pick a daring local who would take you there. Getting some weed is possible, but this is a quest few locals dare to embark on.

In general, probably the only relatively safe and reliable way of getting any weed in Minsk is using your local friend who has contacts. Though marijuana is not popular at all, unlike alcohol, many young people at least know someone who might know someone. All you have to do is get into the right company. Don’t discuss drug-related issues with people you don’t quite know. Try not to get involved into the process of obtaining weed as much as you can. The safest way is to have it delivered to you, but the price will be higher.

Marijuana prices: Asking Minsk locals about weed brands in most cases sounds like bitter irony. As marijuana distribution is heavily oppressed, you don’t have much to choose from. You can get clipped leaves for about $10-$15 per matchbox. The quality varies between very low and average, though the high will be lighter and less lasting.

If you are very lucky, you can get locally produced buds of comparatively high quality. In most cases you will get either leaves or rough, heavy skunk. The price for buds and skunk is normally $15-$20 per gram. Don’t be surprised by the size of this ‘gram,’ it will be probably something more like 0.6-0.7 real grams. It is perfectly normal for Minsk, and customer care in this business is poor.

Hash is uncommon, but if there is some, the prices will be the same as skunk. If your local guide knows someone serious, discounts on major purchases can be offered. The skunk usually delivers a hard, powerful high which is a lot less coarse and physical than Amsterdam brands.

More information: Watch out. It is advised not to carry drug-related paraphernalia and marijuana when you take a walk through the street. If you have to have these things on you, try to stay out of trouble. Though there are lots of policemen in the streets, they don’t search and arrest people for no reason at all. Though, if you do something seriously illegal, it may be dangerous, as even a pipe can be counted as crime evidence.

Try to smoke indoors or in a company of people who own a car which can take you out of dangerous areas right away.

My Minsk Experience

I got pick-pocketed on the platform of Minsk metro station. My wallet with over €100 in it! And all my cards! I ran and told the police in my broken Russian. THEY STOPPED THE TRAINS! Then they got on the video cameras and GOT THE BITCH! Got everything back! Talk about lucky. I couch surfed the second night there and my hosts threw a huge house party in their small student apartment! Brilliant. It’s was a Hawaii theme. Girls in bikinis and coconuts. They even had a magician and performers! Got totally stoned and girls were chatting me up all night, curious to talk to the western guy. One girl in particular caught my eye and we really hit it off, but privacy was non-existent and I had get the train to Kiev the next morning – pity. Maybe some other time. Belarussian girls are cool.  Some pics of the party below. Notice only 1 other guy!

Overview

Think herds of goat beside sky scrappers; cheap beer and great weed; jazz cafés and jaw-dropping women. Coffer was first cultivated in Ethiopia and it was the only country not colonised in the scramble for Africa. The streets turn to rivers when it’s rans. Addis is the SHIT!

The Girls

Malet Yante, Ethiopian

The Amhara are the best looking girls in Africa, never mind Ethiopia. Even the homeless chicks are hot! With olive skin, western facial features and slamming bodies – they can leave you paralysed. You really can’t do these girls justice looking on the net, you just gotta see it to believe it. There are no tourists here so you have your pick. You could find yourself a Goddess if you wanted. Another cool thing about Ethiopian chicks is a lot of them smoke weed and are chilled out! Sometimes language can be a problem and be warned prostitution is endemic and you will often be ”Shoring“. Most working girls will pretend they’re ‘hair dressers’ to western men. Good girls DO exist and they are definite keepers. Did I mention how gorgeous the women were? The nightclubs are riddled with hookers. Girls are very approachable everywhere during the day. My advice – if you want the perfect women, find a university student.

Nightlife Recommendations

Addis has loads of cool jazz bars and is A LOT safer than it seems. The local dancing is great – it’s all in the shoulders!

Memo’s Nightclub

Seedy as hell, but who says that’s a bad thing :)

The Black Rose

The energetic atmosphere is both comfortable and fashionable, and the bar serves a variety of drinks. The bartenders mix the best Cosmo this side of the Nile. The live jazz jam session in Addis every thursday night.

Getting High (courtesy of webehigh.com)

Law enforcement: The police in ethiopia don’t really bother smokers since they know it has no harm but some crooked federal police officers try to scare you a bit to get some bribe money.

Where to buy marijuana: There are plenty of places to score some collie in addis and as long as you ask any rastaman to get something high grade

Marijuana prices: low grade sensimellia 50 gram=5us$,mid grade kompressed sensi 40gram=10us$,high grade primo sensi(CHRONIC,CHOCOLATE,ORANGE KALI) 50gram=20us$

Marijuana brands: Ethiopia has some good herbs but i strongly recommend that you find somebody that has a hookup on some good kompressed ganja

More information: The ganja in addis is of a strong sativa and you can also find some indica. The herb here is the most organic and is grown under the 13 month sunshine that ethiopia is most famous for. One advice before coming here is that you must bring plenty of rolling paper since there is no cigarette paper or blunts.

My Addis Experience

For the first time in my life a women actually stopped me in my tracks.  I completely froze up as she walked passed me one day. She looked like an Ethiopian Rihanna. She turned around, surprised I had stopped and started talking to me… she end up giving me her number! This sweet 17 year old end up being my Addis fb for the week I was there! I had Bob Marley’s “Is this Love?” playing in my head for weeks. As for the weed, I was stoned of my tits on some amazing bud the whole time I was there. We went to Shashemane and got a SHIT LOAD for $4!!! – See below. O Addis.. defo going back.

Our $4 weed!
